Suit fit

Wearing a suit is not part of my daily wardrobe. As a matter of fact I only dress up for church twice a week, so when I do wear a suit, I make sure it's exactly to my liking.

When buying a suit, whether it be online or off the rack, one must know prematurely, how it should fit/size. You shouldn't look like you're swimming in it or have one that looks like it belonged to your little brother. This comes from knowing your body type and doing your research. I've lost count of how many times and how much money was wasted on I'll fitting suits because I was stubborn and didnt know my size.

Here are some tips on fit.

  1. Shoulders: The suit’s shoulders should hug yours; shoulder pads should not protrude beyond your own shoulders.
  2. Chest: You should be able to easily button the jacket without it straining. Conversely, there shouldn’t be too much space between the button and your chest.
  3. Length: jacket, When your arms are hanging straight down, you should be able to cup your fingers under the sides of your suit jacket. Pants, suit pants should touch the top of the shoe right below the ankle. (This one is personal preference because shorter suits are in style nowadays).

This suit I got from selected homme I feel fits perfectly. Not too big, and not too tight. The length in both the blazer and trousers are how I want them both to fit and adding just a bit of sheen for a classier look.

This post is in no way sponsored by selected homme brand. All thoughts are my own opinion. Thank you for tuning in.
